Our wonderful Tenant Support Specialist team are always on hand to help our tenants with any issues with their homes. They are a reliable friendly face who is only a phone call away. We spoke to Waheeda to find out more about her and why she loves working with our tenants.
How long have you been at Vera Living and what made you join?
“I’ve been with Vera Living for nearly three years, and I have loved it. I joined with a passion for the Specialist Disability Accommodation sector and the opportunity to support NDIS participants each day. I believed I had the right knowledge to succeed in this role and wanted to work with a company that is deeply committed to the well-being and professional development of its employees.”
What do you love most about what you do?
“I love being able to help our tenants move into their homes and share the happiness and joy that comes with it. Getting to know each tenant and giving them the support they need for a smooth transition into their home and into the Vera Living community is what my job is all about.”
What is your Vera Living career highlight?
“It has been a privilege to gain a deeper understanding of the disability sector and meet so many inspiring people. I always love visiting tenants in their homes and seeing first-hand the amazing difference their new home has had on their enhanced independence and happiness.”
What is your favourite thing about your colleagues?
“The respect that we all have for one another. It’s fun coming to work with happy people who love where they work. We all have the same care and value for the participants we work with and always put them first.”
What celebrity would you hire to work at Vera?
“Probably Keanu Reeves. He’s very humble and down to earth and money doesn’t mean much to him, so I just see him as a regular cool guy. I think he’d be a great asset to the team as he has the same passion for helping people as we do!”
